The nose is soft and gently voluminous with deep aromas of lime fruit along with notes of honey, toast and minerals, indicating some secondary development. This has a fine and intense core that unfolds tangerine and exotic floral elements with aeration. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate features a tight and deep core with lime fruit and steely minerals, along with restrained notes of honey and toast. The mouthfeel is crisp and fresh with a firm, fine-textured, dry line, with brisk, underlying acidity. The wine has drive and carries to a long, lingering dry finish of limes, toast and minerals. Certified organic, the stylish, tightly structured 2015 vintage (5*) was estate-grown at Rapaura and mostly handled in tanks; 12 per cent of the blend was fermented with indigenous yeasts in seasoned oak casks. Certified organic, the 2014 vintage (5*), re-tasted in June 2016, is currently delicious. Estate-grown in The Corners Vineyard, at Rapaura, it was hand-picked, fermented with indigenous yeasts in a French oak cuve, and matured in French oak barriques (25 per cent new). Bright, light lemon/green, it is rich, ripe and rounded, with a fragrant bouquet, good weight and very generous, peachy, citrusy, mealy flavours, gently seasoned with oak. This has a fresh, tightly bound and slender nose with good depth of detailed white stonefruits along with subtle waxy and lanolin notes and suggestions of herbs and nuts. Dry to taste and medium-bodied the flavours of white florals and stonefruits are pristine, revealing nuances of nuts and minerals, and a little waxiness and lanolin. The palate has a good core and line, with very fine textures and soft, but refreshing acidity. This has up-front vitality, and the wine carries to a moderately long finish of white stonefruits and minerals. Full of personality, the generous, non-vintage (5*) released in 2016 is a blend of Marlborough and Central Otago base wines, fermented initially in old oak and stainless steel barrels. Disgorged after three and a half years on its yeast lees, it is pale straw, with a fine, persistent 'bead'.
