Following on from a very successful inaugural MANA Wine Fest held last year, we are delighted to announce that Saturday, 25th September is the date set for the 2021 celebration of our local organic wines over Organic Wine Week. To be held again at Rock Ferry Cellar Door, the MANA Winegrowers – Clos Henri, Herzog Wines, Huia, Te Whare Ra, and Rock Ferry – will showcase their wines in a relaxed festival atmosphere along with live music from Campbell Lauder and delicious food from the Boom Chef Fran Nolan.
MANA Winegrowers came about initially by five like-minded wineries getting together to share knowledge about organic and biodynamic wine making principles. All are dedicated to making wines that allow the regional and vineyard influences to shine in their wines while also sharing a commitment to respect and safeguard the land for the next generation. MANA winegrowers work the land first and make the wine second. They understand that the quality of wine begins with the soil and the seasons. Employing low intervention techniques and procedures in the wine-making process follows on as part of the group’s overall philosophy.
With a simple objective, Organic Winegrowers NZ have created the Organic Wine Week to increase organic wine awareness, support organic producers for a healthy future, and to educate customers on the benefits for both them and the land for organic products. The MANA Winegrowers are in full support of these notions, which originally brought about the MANA Wine Fest and continues again this year!
