Vineyard:

2013 Rock Ferry The Corners Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc

Region:

Rapaura, Wairau Plains, Marlborough

Viticulture:

Our aim in the vineyard is to grow the best fruit we can so it can speak of its home and express its personality. To do this you need healthy vines and soil. By practicing organics and incorporating some biodynamic principles we believe we are doing our best to help achieve this and let our vineyards evolve and speak as they would like.

Winemaking:

Clone 316 and 317 Sauvignon Blanc was hand harvested form our Corners Vineyard. The fruit was hand sorted and whole bunch pressed with the free run juice warm settled overnight. The cloudy juice was racked to a seasoned oak cuvee for indigenous fermentation. The ferment was warm 24 degrees and lasted 12 days before the wine was dry. The wine was left on full ferment lees for 9 months prior to racking and preparing for bottling.
