2018 Rock Ferry The Corners Vineyard Grüner Veltliner

Our aim in the vineyard is to grow the best fruit we can so it can speak of its home and express its personality. To do this you need healthy vines and soil. By practicing organics and incorporating some biodynamic principles we believe we are doing our best to help achieve this and let our vineyards evolve and speak as they would like.
The grapes were hand harvested, bunch sorted and gently whole bunch pressed. The free run portion was settled for 24 hours and the cloudy juice was transferred to 225L barrels (70% stainless steel, 30% seasoned oak) for fermentation. The yeasts used were 50% indigenous and 50% cultured. The wine was left on full ferment lees for 8 months prior to racking and bottling.

A classy young wine, it is aromatic and medium-bodied, with intense, pure, citrusy, slightly spicy flavours, showing good complexity, and a dry (3.5 grams/litre residual sugar), persistent finish." - Michael Cooper
