Our aim in the vineyard is to grow the best fruit we can so it can speak of its home and express its personality. To do this you need healthy vines and soil. By practicing organics and incorporating some biodynamic principles we believe we are doing our best to help achieve this and let our vineyards evolve and speak as they would like.
The grapes were hand harvested and sorted, then destemmed into older oak barrels for indigenous fermentation. The grapes were hand plunged twice daily until the ferment was complete then pressed off into French oak barriques for maturation; and in spring the wine went through an indigenous Malolactic fermentation. After a total of 17 months in barrel the wine was racked and lightly egg white fined prior to bottling without filtration.
A lovely floral nose with a hint of blackberries and herbaceous notes. Complimented by a plump, fruity palate with a soft, toastie finish.

Set for a long life, the 2016 vintage (4.5*) is certified organic. Barrel-aged for 17 months, it is full-coloured, with an earthy bouquet. Mouthfilling, it has concentrated, vigorous berry, plum, spice and nut flavours, fresh and firmly structured. Very much a 'food' wine, it has obvious cellaring potential; best drinking 2021+. 4.5* Michael Cooper
